We are looking for a Special Needs Assistant to join our Merrion school, working one-to-one with a child in the 3–6 classroom. This is a term-time position.

About the role

You will support one child throughout the school day — helping with transitions, self-care and access to the Montessori materials, always with the aim of building their independence rather than doing things for them. You will work closely with the Directress and with the child’s family and therapists.

What we are looking for

• Experience supporting children with additional needs
• A relevant qualification (SNA, childcare or similar)
• Patience, discretion and excellent observation skills
• Garda vetting — we will support you through this process
