Our primary and post primary teaching programmes are designed to be flexible, allowing you to study at a location of your choice. Both spring and fall start dates are available. Prior teaching experience is not required to apply for the education programmes. Our blended strategy is effective because we are devoted to assisting students in achieving their academic and professional objectives without compromising their quality of life.
The B.A. in Psychology offers a broad introduction to the field of Psychology and its major sub-disciplines. Over 3 years (or 4 year part-time) learners engage with the core areas in psychology including developmental, social, and cognitive psychology, abnormal psychology and psychotherapy and neuropsychology. A significant component of the programme is also dedicated to equipping learners with a strong capability in research methods, culminating in an independent research project.
The B.A. (Hons) in Psychology has been approved for validation by QQI. SNMCI is in the process of seeking accreditation from the Psychological Society Ireland.
The B.Ed. in Montessori Education degree is designed for learners who wish to embark on a career in Montessori Teaching and Early Years Education and Care (ECEC). It is a broad- based modular programme incorporating Montessori pedagogy and philosophy with the core knowledge and skills necessary to work in the early childhood sector.
In the final year of the programme students can choose one of two routes leading to the different award titles:
These programmes are recognised by the Qualifications Advisory Board for the purposes of professional recognition in the early years sector. In addition these programmes will enable graduates to work as Montessori classroom teachers in Montessori primary schools (including our own schools) with children up to age 9 (Level 7) and up to age 12 (Route A, Level 8).
