This course equips learners with the knowledge and skills required to manage and lead early years settings in Ireland. This includes both the business management skills needed to operate a successful early years business and the educational leadership skills to engage and motivate children, fellow educators and parents. The course includes four 5 credit modules covering these key skills and competencies. The modules are:
- Introduction to Business Management
- Leadership in Early Years
- Business Management
- Leading Inclusive Practice
Who Should Study this Course?
This course will suit early years educators who are in leadership positions, or who are aspiring to such positions, and who are seeking to develop their management and leadership capability. The course also provides a support and stepping stone for professionals with newly or established early years settings or those seeking to open a new setting.
This course has been designed to align to the Leadership career pathway as outlined in the soon to be published Early Years Workforce Develpoment Plan. This plan will set targets for lead educators and managers (persons in charge) of early years settings to be qualified at Level 7 or above by 2028.
