– Infant ‘Nido’ for optimal development – Concrete to Abstract experiences for children; – Self–directed activity., Sensitive Periods; Movement, Freedom and Independence, Independence and Self–esteem; Emotional Intelligence; Communication; – Lifespan development: – Characteristics of each stage of development across a lifetime – Links to Montessori’s ‘Planes of Development’ across a lifespan: – Characteristics and requirements of each stage; – Prepared Nurturing Environments: – For all ages; – Importance of physical activity, sensory experiences, meaningful relationships, meaningful contribution; wellbeing; optimal experiences – Education for Dementia: – Education for Peace; – Community Beyond the Classroom: Intergenerational learning/Lifelong learning; – 21st century skills: creativity, self–motivation; – Montessori and links to current research. |
