Programme Director for Higher Diploma in Arts in Early Years Montessori Education and International Officer for SNMCI. Programme Director of the HDip, responsible for all academic aspects of the course, including timetabling, liaising with lecturers and the programme administrator, producing an annual report, and planning for the next year of the programme.
International officer, administers the Erasmus Plus programme for international exchanges. Arranges for SMSI students to study and complete placements in other European universities. To date, SMSI students have travelled to Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Italy. Further afield, students have also gone to Izmir, Turkey and Haifa, Israel. SMSI teachers have also taught in other countries, as part of the Erasmus Plus programme. International officer also coordinates visiting students, ensuring appropriate module selection, and providing help with visas and accommodation. To date SMSI haswelcomed students from Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Slovenia and Turkey.
Teaching Montessori at St Nicholas since 1988 and at different times I has directedmost teacher education programmes in College. Expertise in elementary Montessori programme, and in the area of academic writing. reviously Head of Cultural Studies, and, as such, coordinated module on literature and art appreciation, and taught literature on that module. At present, teaches children’s literature on our Gaeilge and the Arts module. Previous to St Nicholas, taught Social and Life Skills to YTS students in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, and Ialso taught English in Paris, between 1977 and 1980.
